What is Unique Sc​opes?

Unique Scopes Laboratory Accreditation Program is ISO/IEC 17025:2017 only accreditation. AIHA LAP established this accreditation to accommodate consumer product testing accreditation and accreditation for other types of testing not typically part of the IHLAP, ELLAP, EMLAP, FoodLAP, and Be Field/Mobile programs.

AIHA LAP’s Unique Scopes program currently covers a variety of categories and always accepting more:

  • Cannabis Testing
  • Consumer Product Testing
  • Forensics
  • Formaldehyde

Laboratories seeking this accreditation must be in compliance with the requirements found in the appropriate AIHA LAP Policy Modules, including Module 2A and Module 6. The unique scope testing procedures must produce data that is used to evaluate exposures that impact health and/or natural resources.
